Dr. Anastasios Fokas has been proudly serving his patients in Astoria and the surrounding communities of New York for over a decade. He graduated from the State University of New York College of Optometry in 1996 where he was the recipient of the Pilkington Barnes Hind award for excellence in contact lenses. Dr. Fokas is Board Certified by the American Board of Optometry. Since 1997 Dr. Fokas has been a consulting staff member at Calvary Hospital , caring for the eyes of terminally ill patients. He has a special interest in the diagnosis and treatment of glaucoma and specialty fit contact lenses.
Dr. Fokas has served on the board of directors of the Optometric Society of The City of New York. He is an active member of the American Optometric Association and The New York State Optometric Association.
Dr. Monica Bhasin received her Bachelor of Science Degree in Biology from St. John's University in 2001. She received her Degree in Optometry from SUNY State College of Optometry in 2006 and was honored with the Dr. Frederick W. Brock Memorial Award for Outstanding Clinical performance in Vision Therapy.
Additionally, she has completed a residency program in Vision Therapy and Rehabilitation at the State College of Optometry. Dr. Bhasin enjoys working with children and has a special interest in pediatrics, visual skills disorders (eye teaming, eye focusing, and eye tracking) and other common vision disorders like strabismus (crossed eye) and amblyopia (lazy eye) as well as learning related vision problems. She is a member of the American Academy of Optometry. American Optometric Association and College of Optometrists in Vision Development. Additionally, she has completed a residency program in Vision Therapy and Rehabilitation at the State College of Optometry and is Board Certified by the American Board of Optometry.
Dr. Bhasin is also a consulting staff member at Calvary Hospital in the Bronx.
